When you are expecting fewer than 150 guests, you have the option of serving a single-layer stacked cake. These cakes, pictured below, allow you to stack several smaller tiers. Each tier is a single layer of cake (split in the middle with icing or filling), and about 2 1/2 inches tall. They are also great for showers, anniversaries, and other events where you want an elegant cake to serve a smaller number of guests.
