June 2009 Sessions
Three-day sessions will include cake decorating, pizza and cookies.
Learn the basics of cake decorating,
including how to ice a cake (young children will be provided with already-iced cakes). Then learn the basics of piping, starting with how to fill
a pastry bag, how to pipe borders, and basic writing and drawing
techniques. Each child will
ice and decorate a small cake to take home.
Make pizza dough from scratch. Then pick herbs from the garden to make sauce and grate cheese. Finally, learn about yeast and the rising process, then bake to perfection!
Create a collection of decorated cookies to take home with an assortment of candies,
frosting, and fun.
July 2009 Sessions
July sessions will cover cake carving and sculpture, fondant flowers and chocolate clay. We will create individual carved cakes in a variety of shapes, using fondant, chocolate, buttercream and rice crispy treats as garnishes.
